Samsung Galaxy S20+ review
Quad camera delight
Our Samsung Galaxy S20+ review reveals a cracking smartphone with a 64MP quad camera and a host of cutting-edge features. You can buy the Samsung Galaxy S20+ in the UK on a 24-month contract with Galaxy S20 Plus deals on all networks.
Build Quality
Display prowess
The Samsung Galaxy S20+ has a well-sized 6.7” Infinity-O display that is protected behind a slice of tough Corning Gorilla Glass 6. In fact, this is Corning’s toughest glass, with many other phones using lower versions, so the best protection possible is given here.
The Quad HD+ display delivers a resolution of 3,200x 1,440 pixels and the phone can play HDR10+ content, from the likes of Netflix. The Always On Display can be customised with a choice of widgets and themes.
Processor and design
The 2.7GHz octa-core processor with 8GB RAM (4G model) or 12GB RAM (5G model) can handle pretty much everything from intense gaming to AR. You can buy the Samsung Galaxy S10+ in Cosmic Black, Cosmic Blue, or Cosmic Grey and it weighs 186g and measures 7.8mm thick.
As a durability bonus, IP68 certification denotes that the phone can be submerged to 1.5 metres in water for up to 30 minutes. Needless to say, you can make a call or check directions even in a torrential rainstorm.
Phone Set Up
Top-grade security
The Samsung Galaxy S20+ ticks all the boxes when it comes to keeping you and your information secure. To access the phone, you can use the Ultrasonic Fingerprint scanner that is built into the screen or use face recognition.

Samsung includes McAfee for virus and malware protection. You can also move private files, movies, photos, and apps into a Secure Folder, so you can let others use your phone while keeping, for example, work apps locked away.
Memory options
You do have a good range of memory variants to pick from. These start with 128GB memory (4G model) and run up to 512GB memory (5G model). Of course, the more memory the more the Galaxy S20+ costs. However, there is a memory card slot for cards with a value of up to 1TB, so if you start low, you can add more memory later.
Features
One UI 2 and Android 10
The Samsung Galaxy S20+ comes with Android, refined by Samsung to make it even easier to use. Samsung has put the Bixby Key on the side of the phone, so you can ask questions or access features such as Translate, Routines, Shopping, and Wine.
Samsung also gives you Edge Panels for fast access to people, apps, tools, tasks, and more. You can add a video wallpaper with up to 15 seconds of footage.
AKG and Dolby audio
The Galaxy S20 Plus has stereo speakers and earphones with sound by AKG. Backed up with Dolby technology, surround sound, and ultra-high-quality audio playback, this phone is made for music.
Camera & Video
Zoom, zoom, and zoom
With this Samsung phone, you can zoom and zoom again with 3x Hybrid Optic Zoom2 and 30x Super-Resolution Zoom3. The 64MP high-res camera is assisted by a 12MP Ultra Wide Camera, 12MP Wide-angle Camera, and a DepthVision Camera.
The Samsung Galaxy S20+ captures more light at night with a sensor that is 1.7x larger than that used on the Galaxy S10. Ingeniously, the camera merges multiple shots to reduce noise and blur.

Single Take is a feature that is burst mode on steroids and captures a series of photos in multiple formats. You will also be entertained by augmented reality features such as AR Doodle, Quick Measure, and 3D Scanner.
Video rolls in at 4x the definition of 4K with the 8K Video Snap tool. While recording 8K footage, you can capture 33MP still photos. AI video stabilisation ensures superb results and you can get some pretty cool results using Super Slo-mo.
You can capture portraits using the 10MP selfie camera.
Battery Life
Battery reserves to share
The Samsung Galaxy S20+ has a large 4,500mAh battery and supports Super Fast Charging, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and Wireless Powershare. Wireless Powershare works with other compatible Samsung phones and phones that use the Qi wireless charging standard.
