Samsung Galaxy J4+ review
A good camera and battery on a shoestring budget
Our Samsung Galaxy J4+ review finds a low-price coupled with a good main camera and a healthy battery life. This is the sister model to the Galaxy J6+, which has a dual camera and a fingerprint sensor. In a nutshell, if a fingerprint sensor and dual camera aren’t on your shopping list, then you should save some money and opt for the Galaxy J4+, which is almost identical to its sister model everywhere else.
A bright display
The Samsung Galaxy J4+ has a 6” HD+ LCD Infinity Display. If you buy this Samsung phone then you will be impressed by the brightness and True HD+ resolution (1480×720 pixels).
Keep up to Date
Fill in the form and be the first to know when the Samsung Galaxy J4+ is released.
The elongated display (18.5:9 screen aspect ratio) is perfect for using two apps side-by-side in split-screen mode. This elongated form also results in the phone being slimmer, making it far easier to hold, without causing hand strain.
What’s good about the design?
The Samsung Galaxy J4+ comes in three bold colour choices and these are Pink, Gold, and Black. You don’t get to see much of this from the front due to the narrow bezel. However, all of the sides and back are coloured, so it's really nice to flip the phone over just enjoy the glass-like back cover.

The phone is fairly slim at 7.9mm and its weight, at 178g, is pretty much equal to or less than that of most other phones.
Qualcomm is clearly one of the leading manufacturers of processors, so it is nice to the Samsung Galaxy J4+ get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. This 1.45GHz chip is quad-core with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. This chip will let you play high-res video without draining the battery. If you choose the high level of RAM then graphics-based games play better, with less lag or stuttering.
Phone Set Up
Although the Samsung Galaxy J4+ does not have a fingerprint sensor, it does has Face Recognition. This is a really convenient way to secure your phone and keep your files private.

Your choice of memory
You can choose either a 16GB model or a 32GB model. This choice is less important than in past years because you can buy an up to 512GB memory card. The memory card will allow you to download apps directly onto it, so the number of apps you can have is almost limitless.
The Samsung Galaxy J4+ runs on Google’s Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. This is great news for you because you get pre-loaded apps from both Google and Samsung. From Google Maps to Duo video calling, you will already have an app for the task.
The Galaxy J4+ has Dolby Atmos surround sound, taking your enjoyment of movies and music to new heights.

Camera & Video
Some smartphone cameras are really tricky to use with just one hand but Samsung has solved this problem with the camera app having a floating shutter button. The main 13MP camera works really well and there is a large aperture that lets in more light, essential for night shots.

The 5MP selfie camera gets its own LED flash and offers plenty of fun with social messaging. You can create male or female avatars using your own likeness and chat with these using the Emotify feature.
10% longer lasting
Compared to previous models from the Galaxy J range, the 3,300mAh battery brings with it a 10% increase in usage times. There is also a handy Power Saving mode that closes inactive apps and simplifies the Home Screen.
