Samsung Galaxy A70 review
Big display/triple camera
Our Samsung Galaxy A70 review finds a phone with a very big screen and fine resolution. The phone is also a camera pro with a triple camera and a 32MP selfie camera. If you love photography then this Samsung phone will be a great choice for you.
6.7” behemoth display
The Samsung Galaxy A70 has a truly stunning screen. Measuring 6.7”, the sAMOLED Infinity-U Display has FHD+ resolution (2,400x 1,080 pixels) beating that of most premium flagship smartphones.
Keep up to Date
Fill in the form and be the first to know when the Samsung Galaxy A70 is released.
The display has a 20:9 screen-aspect-ratio, which is really wide or long, depending on which way you are holding the phone. This configuration is great for everything, from gaming to browsing webpages with less scrolling.
The near bezel-less screen sees it stretch from edge-to-edge. There is an Always On Display option and you can use this to see notifications, the time, and control your music, all without unlocking the phone.
Glass design and octa-core performance
The Samsung Galaxy A70 has a smooth 3D glass back which is nice and comfortable to hold. The phone is pretty slim at 7.9mm and at 183g, the weight is pretty much middle of the road.
You can buy this Samsung phone in Coral, Blue, Black, or White. There is a great performance on offer with the 2GHz octa-core processor with 6GB RAM, handling anything you can throw at it.
Phone Set Up
There is a real buzz around on-screen fingerprint sensors at the moment, and you can experience this for yourself. Simply press your finger against the bottom half of the display and hey-presto, the phone wakes up and unlocks.

The alternative option is Face Recognition and some may prefer this choice. If you have private or work files then a Secure Folder is included.
Smart Switch helps you get set up and guides you through transferring your old smartphone content to your new phone. There is a pretty generous 128GB internal memory and a memory card slot, supporting cards with a value of up to 512GB.
The Samsung Galaxy A70 runs on Android Pie but with Samsung’s One UI, which refines the experience. One such refinement is the screens have an Interaction Area in the bottom half that makes it easier to use a tall display, particularly with one hand.
You will be able to download apps from the Google Play Store and Galaxy Apps from the Galaxy Store, giving you twice the choice. Features on this Samsung phone include Night Mode, Multi Window, Split Screen, Samsung Pay, Samsung Notes, Samsung Health, and Wind Down mode.
Game Launcher and Kids Home
Game Launcher is a key feature for gamers and it lets you change the performance mode. You can focus on power saving, a balanced experience, or focus on performance. You can also connect the headphones and experience Dolby Atmos Surround Sound.
If your children are to use the phone then Kids Home helps you protect them. In this mode, there are age-appropriate apps and you can set time limits to restrict the amount of screen time.
The Bixby Assistant is a handy tool on the Samsung Galaxy A70. Bixby lets you set up your own Quick Commands, with other actions coming under the home of three labels:
Bixby Home - curated handy apps, news, notifications, and other content appear on the screen and are based on your usage habits
Bixby Vision - search for items you see, translate or extract text
Styling Makeup – see how you would look with different lipsticks or take a photo of sunglasses and do the same
Camera & Video
The triple camera on the Galaxy A70 has three lenses with the following functions:
8MP Ultra-Wide lens – with a 123-degree field of vision you can capture epic landscapes that directly correlate to the field of the vision of a human eye
32MP lens - for capturing clear, bright photos all day or night
5MP lens – this Depth Camera gives you depth-of-field effects with Live Focus
The Scene Optimiser software uses AI to adjust the saturation and brightness of photos. There are 20 modes that images fit under including sunset, waterfall, trees, sky, bird, dog, and flowers.
Further camera tools include Flaw Detection that recognises eye blinks, facial blurs, and backlighting issues. You can get closer to the action with 8x digital zoom or capture Slow Motion footage or record video at 4K quality.

32MP selfie camera
The selfie camera on the Samsung Galaxy A70 is outstanding and with a 32MP resolution, there are few camera phones that can capture the same amount of detail. Tools include Selfie Focus, AR Emoji, My Emoji, AR stickers, and Mask.
Super Fast Charging
The Galaxy A70 has a very large 4,500mAh battery and this is charged through the symmetrical USB Type-C port with a 25W Super Fast Charger. Usage times are fantastic with up to 16 hours of internet time, or up to 128 hours of music playback, or up to 24 hours of video playback.
