Oppo Reno 10x Zoom review
Our Oppo Reno 10x Zoom review takes an in-depth look at this latest Android smartphone from the relatively new manufacturer in the UK market. The phone has a superb design and a new shark-fin shaped pop-up camera module making this Oppo phone stand out from the crowd.
Glass and metal body
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a 6.6-inch display with a resolution of 1080x 2340 pixels. As the camera is placed in a pop-up module there is no cutout for the sensor, giving you an all-screen smartphone. The phone has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and an 86.8% screen-to-body ratio. What all of that actually means is you get an uninterrupted view for mobile gaming or watching videos.

This smartphone has been made with a glass cover on the back that is smooth, there is no camera bump. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is available in Ocean Green, Jet Black or Mist Pink. The phone weighs 210g and measures 9.3 mm. Although that isn’t as light as other flagship models, the all-screen display and pop-up camera more than makes up for it.

Phone Set Up
The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor on board. The RAM depends on which variant you go for with the 128GB one sporting 6GB RAM and the 256GB model having 8GB RAM. Either of these models will deliver amazing performance and handle demanding tasks easily.
Whichever memory option you select each model has a microSD card slot which can be used with cards of up to a whopping 512GB. This will give you lots of space for transferring content over from your old phone.
Display fingerprint sensor
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom uses the latest fingerprint sensor technology and places the sensor under the phone display. This type of reader is much more accurate and is quicker for reading the print and unlocking the phone.
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is an Android 9 smartphone so you get lots of familiar apps right out of the box. Top Android apps including Chrome, Maps, and YouTube are pre-loaded and you can choose from a huge selection on Google Play.
Oppo has added their own ColourOS 6 UX which works with the Android system for excellent user experience. The manufacturer has focused on improving this user interface to make it more responsive and provide a smooth performance.
Some of the features of ColourOS 6 include:
- App Drawer - moving away from the standard series of home screens with different apps spread across them, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom allows you to use an App Drawer. This is a searchable window that can be slid up on any screen
- Drop down settings - instead of the standard basic settings icons, a redesign sees bigger tiles for finding the right options when you slide down from the top
- App Cloning - you can create clones of your apps which allows you to access different accounts on the same platforms

Camera & Video
Triple rear camera
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a triple rear camera, this is made up of:
- 48MP main camera
- 13MP telephoto lens
- 8MP ultra-wide camera
These camera lenses work together to capture amazing photos in any situation. The 48MP camera makes sure you get lots of detail in the shot. Optical image stabilisation ensures blur-free shots and the telephoto lens gives excellent zoom performance.
Multiple glass components make up the zoom lens and there is a prism at one end of the module to direct light to the camera sensor. This type of construction allows more optical zoom and makes the subject look closer without losing any detail.
The ultra-wide option takes in much more of your surroundings making it perfect for landscape or group photos. You can switch between ultra-wide shots and choose 1x, 2x, 6x or 10x zoom with a simple tap on the icon while lining up your shot.
Shooting modes include:
- Night Mode
- Google Lens
Pop-up selfie camera
There is a 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies. The camera is tucked away in a thin module that will pop-up when activated. Pop-up camera lenses have been appearing on a few models lately, but Oppo is the only one that has opted for a shark-fin design.
There is an LED flash for illuminating the shot and you can capture video with the selfie camera at 30fps and 1080p resolution. There are plenty of shooting modes and editing options to make sure you are happy with the final image before posting it.
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a massive 4,065mAh battery with Fast Charge. The included 20W Type-C fast charger can deliver a charge in super-quick time.
With a full charge, the battery can easily keep going all day and leave you with some power. Whatever you are doing, whether its gaming or browsing, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has the battery capacity to keep going.
