LG Q7 review
The LG Q7 has an ample 5.5” FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) FullVision display. With a 18:9 screen aspect ratio, this phone is thinner than a traditional phone and this makes it easy to hold.

The screen has extra rows of pixels and this lets you see more of a website without scrolling. There is also a new breed of apps and games out there, that take advantage of these extra rows of pixels.
Military grade durability
The LG Q7 is IP68 certified and built to MIL-STD-810. In total, the phone has passed 14 durability tests, such as impact, rain, water immersion, temperature shock, sand and dust resistance, vibration and solar radiation exposure.

The LG Q7 has a MediaTek 1.5GHz octa-core processor with 3GB RAM. This processor performs well for a mid-range phone and the ample RAM means it can handle gaming and web browsing well.
Phone Set Up
A fingerprint sensor has been positioned on the back and this can be used to unlock the phone or access locked content in QuickMemo+ or the Gallery. The sensor can also be used to carry out the following actions:
- Quick Shutter - Tap once to take a photo
- Quick Capture - Tap twice to take a screenshot
- Noti Bar Control - Scroll down to see the notification panel
LG Mobile Switch
The LG Mobile Switch feature is built into the phone and this can be used to transfer content over from the phone that you are replacing. There is plenty of memory for this (32GB) and even if you run low on memory in the future, then you can insert an up to 2TB memory card.
The LG Q7 has DTS X Surround Sound and this brings premium grade audio with richer and louder sounds. The music player will let you select sound effects and pitch, with the option to have the flash blink to the beat of the music.

Android and LG apps
Running on Google’s Android 8.1 Oreo operating system, the LG Q7 has access to Android apps through the Play Store. You will also enjoy access to SmartWorld, where you can download apps, fonts, audio content and games from LG.
Two features of note include:
- Multi window - Use two apps side-by-side, such as Facebook and YouTube
- QLens - Take a photo of things around you and enjoy either Visual Shopping or Visual Search
Camera & Video
FullVision shooting mode
The 13MP camera has a special FullVision shooting mode that lets you use those extra rows of pixels, that we mentioned earlier. This means that you can take photos that are wider in landscape mode or taller in portrait mode.
Camera features that stand out include:
- Flash Jump-Cut - Create a moving GIF by taking photos three seconds apart. Once captured, you can adjust the GIF playback speed.
- Full HD video recording
- Make Collage - Create a collage of images.
- Food Mode
- PDAF - High speed autofocus.
The 8MP selfie camera has a Portrait Mode where you can blur the background to varying degrees. If you want to be certain that you have captured the perfect selfie, then you can use Interval Shot, which takes four selfies spaced three seconds apart.
