LG K4 2017 review
The basics with a few LG extras
LG K4 2017 Titan or Black?
This LG phone is available in two colours and both look pretty good. The LG K4 2017 Titan has a black front and this is contrasted by the back which is Titan Grey. The LG K4 2017 Black is an all black affair.

Regardless of colour choice, you will find a 5” display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, a rear mounted speaker, a body that weighs 135g and phone thickness of 7.9mm. Both the weight and slimness are at the more desirable end of the scale.

Inside, a 1.1GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM powers the experience. If you don’t mind short delays when opening apps then this is fine, otherwise opt for the LG K8 2017.
Phone Set Up
Transferring content, security and personalisation
The LG K4 2017 has a small 8GB internal memory for moving your old smartphone’s content onto. While this is very small, you can buy a 32GB microSD card for a few pounds and boost the memory significantly.

In addition to more standard security measures such as a PIN, the Knock Code gives an alternative where you tap spaces on the screen to unlock, and you can even do this when the screen is off.
For personalisation, you can edit the home touch buttons, using a maximum of 5 and these can include a button to your notifications or Capture+ (takes a screenshot). You can also change the height of the keyboard, split it into two or move it to the side for one-handed use.
OS and LG apps
The LG K4 2017 runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and this gives you access to the Play Store for new apps. LG also gives you access to SmartWorld where more apps, fonts, games and audio content can be downloaded.
The LG apps add a little interest to this phone. QuickMemo+ lets you make advanced notes with the option to add images and screenshots. Ringtone ID lets you set different ringtones for selected contacts, while KnockON lets you double tap the screen to turn it on.
