LG K10 review
Our Thoughts Are Premium made affordable
The LG K10 will be the successor to the L Series of smartphones and will be released with a variation of models that include a 4G model and a 3G model, that has a lower specification.
|LG G4 deals|
The LG K10 has been designed for the mass market with the intention to the put the camera and user experience of premium LG phones, like the LG G4, into a more affordable package, for a younger audience.
The LG K10, to its credit, looks more expensive than it actually is, with a curved modern finish and a back cover that has an intricate woven pattern, designed for optimal grip. The design is free of button clutter and has charging and audio ports at the bottom.
Available in white, indigo and gold, the LG K10 is only 8.8mm thick and it has a large 5.3” HD display, which once again looks premium thanks to its 2.5D Arced Glass design. The resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels delivers 227 pixels per inch, which is plenty defined for watching media or playing games.
Keep up to Date
Fill in the form and be the first to know when the LG K10 is released.
The 4G model will have a 1.14GHz octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and a 16GB internal memory, for user storage and apps.
Phone Set Up
The set up process is pretty simple and is aided by the LG Setup Wizard feature and Android Lollipop operating system, which among many other things offers live widgets for the home screen and app folders, which makes organising apps into groups easy.
LG intends to offer a special Quick Cover View hard case accessory that will be an essential buy for anyone who wants to make a real impression.
Offering a similar experience to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, a strip of the display is left visible, yet still protected behind a transparent extension to the case. This visible edge of the screen displays a clock, date, notifications, battery status and can be used to answer a call without opening the case.
|LG G5 price release date|
The traditional LG rear key is present and offers extra functionality through the index finger and this sits above the rear positioned speaker. Life is further made easier with Google Voice Search and GPS for navigation on foot or in vehicle.
The LG K10 comes pre-loaded with a range of apps that include McAfee Mobile Security, QMemo+ and FaceUnlock.
Camera & Video
The experience really comes alive when the 13MP camera is activated. Punching well above its weight, this high-definition camera is sided by a LED flash, for low light photography.
The 8MP camera with Flash for Selfie, also puts the LG K10 well above its competition, in terms of definition. To take a selfie the user can use Gesture Shot, where making a fist in front of the camera activates the countdown timer. Making a fist twice activates Gesture Interval Shot, which takes four consecutive photos, ensuring photographic success.
The LG K10 has a 2,300mAh battery, which sits on a par with other smartphones in this tier.
Verdict: The LG K10 certainly offers a lot for its pricing and the special hard case accessory may well just fool others that you have a very expensive Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in your possession.
