Huawei Mate 10 Lite review
Our Huawei Mate 10 Lite review finds that there is nothing ‘Lite’ about the specifications or features at all. We take a look at the first four camera smartphone with a FullVision display and a powerful processor.
The Huawei Mate 10 Lite has a vivid and bright 5.9” FullView display with Full HD+ resolution. The Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2160 pixels / 407 pixels per inch) adds extra rows of pixels so that you can see more of webpages and your social media feed.

The elongated 2:1 aspect ratio and those extra pixels also improves the experience of running two apps side by side. For the evening, there is an Eye Comfort Mode that reduces eye strain by removing blue light.
The Huawei Mate 10 Lite is slim and long with almost no bezel at the sides of the screen. There is a 83% screen to body ratio, so you will have to look at the sides and back to enjoy one of the three colour options, which are Prestige Gold, Graphite Black and Aurora Blue.

This Huawei phone has a metal unibody that is 7.5mm thick and it weighs in pretty light at 164g.
The Huawei Mate 10 Lite has a fast octa-core 2.36GHz Kirin 659 processor with 4GB RAM. With this processor there is no lag when opening your photo gallery or apps and webpages load in very quickly.
Phone Set Up
Fingerprint security and user accounts
The fingerprint sensor can be used to secure the phone and for gaining access to the Safe or for securing apps with App Lock. You can also add guest fingerprints and set up user accounts with varying degrees of access and authority.
Content from an old smartphone can be transferred over onto the internal memory. Huawei has given this phone a 64GB memory and of this 48GB is available for storing content. If in the future more memory is needed, then the phone accepts microSD cards with a value of up to 128GB.
Android and EMUI 5.1
The Huawei Mate 10 Lite has the Android 7.1 Nougat operating system and it will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update, when Huawei make it available. The overall look is enhanced by EMUI 5.1, which includes goodies such as Magazine Unlock and a series of Huawei apps.

With App Twin you can run two versions of apps at the same time and this is useful to anyone who may have, for example, two Facebook accounts. Knuckle Gestures can be used to take screenshots or be used for opening apps by drawing a letter of the screen.
Camera & Video
Dual main camera
We have already mentioned that the Huawei Mate 10 Lite has four cameras, two on the front and two on the back.
|Huawei mobile phone reviews|
The main camera has a 16MP lens and this is paired up with a second lens with a resolution of 2MP. With the two lenses it is possible to capture bokeh images and you can readjust the focus after capturing the image.
Further main camera features include two second Moving Pictures, Burst Shooting, Slow Motion Recording and Time-lapse Mode. With the Accentuate Colours feature you can also create stunning photos by tapping on areas to remain in colour, while everything else goes to black and white.
Dual selfie camera
The dual selfie camera has a 13MP image rendering lens and a 2MP colour lens that captures depth of field, for bokeh blurred background effects. You can touch anywhere on the screen to adjust the focus and the background blur and with the two lenses you also get better lighting and more radiant results.
The Selfie Toning Flash adjusts its brightness based on the surrounding environmental light. It is also designed to mimic sunlight, giving more natural skin tones. The flash emits its light across 120o and this is great for when you want to capture group selfies.
The selfie camera uses Huawei’s Beauty 4.0 Algorithm and this enables precise millimetre adjustments to skin tones.
Two days use
The high capacity 3,340mAh battery give two days typical use. It should give you up to 20 hours of talk time or up to 23 days standby. You can reduce power consumption by choosing which apps should close automatically when the screen is locked and the Mate 10 Lite can be fully charged in less than 150 minutes.
