Huawei Honor 10 review
AI powered cameras
Our Huawei Honor 10 review finds a mobile phone with amazing AI powered cameras. What’s more, both the front and back cameras have a 24MP resolution, putting equal focus on you and the world around you.
Honor Full View Display
The Huawei Honor 10 has a nicely sized 5.84” Full View Display. You may be thinking that a phone that has a display of this size will be difficult to hold. However, this really isn’t the case because the phone has a 19:9 screen aspect ratio, making it slim but tall, which is ideal for one-handed use.
Keep up to Date
Fill in the form and be the first to know when the Huawei Honor 10 is released.
The tall element sees extra rows of pixels added (2280 x 1080). This means that you can see further down any page, without needing to scroll.
If you choose the Phantom Blue model then you will enjoy an Aurora Glass Design that is highly reflective. Alternatively, you can opt for less reflective Phantom Glacier Grey model. The Honor 10 has a pretty typical thickness of 7.7mm, yet it is pretty light at 153g.
Processor and call performance
The Honor 10 has a Kirin 970 (AI NPU) 2.36GHz octa-core processor with 4GB RAM. With artificial intelligence, the processor learns your usage behaviours, to make the user experience even more seamless.

Good old fashioned phone calls get automatic background noise reduction. This ensures that you are always heard, even when there is a lot going on around you.
Phone Set Up
Face Unlock / Ultrasonic FingerPrint
Facial recognition is now ultra fast but you still have the option to use your fingerprint, if you wish. The Ultrasonic FingerPrint reader is positioned under the front glass and the big advancement here is that it supports wet hands. A wet fingertip had been the curse of fingerprint readers, so we are glad to see this issue solved by the Honor 10.
New: Nokia 5.1 review
If you need to transfer content over from an old phone, then there is a very generous 128GB internal memory.
The Honor 10 has Huawei’s EMUI 8.1 user interface and this improves the look and adds a few features to the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. There is a good choice of Android and Huawei apps pre-loaded but it is the camera features that will catch your eye.

Camera & Video
Dual AI Camera
The Honor 10 has a powerful 24MP + 16MP dual camera. AI plays a huge part of the photography experience and there is real time recognition of more than 500 scenes in 22 categories, for scene-specific image adjustments. The camera can also recognise multiple subjects in one image and adds customised optimisations.
Possibly the most useful and creative feature is the AI Portrait Mode and 3D Portrait Lighting. Here, face modelling and face recognition bring professional studio lighting effects from Theatre Light to Soft Light and Butterfly Light,
If video is your thing, then you can record 4K video through the main camera. You can shoot HD video through the 24MP Front AI Camera. This high resolution selfie camera can also capture exceptional low light photos by using four in one light fusion technology. This takes the information from four pixels to create one. The resolution is slashed by a quarter but it takes low light selfies to new heights.
Honor SuperCharge makes recharging a quick affair and can take the 3,400mAh battery from 0% to 50% charge in just 25 minutes. It takes slightly longer to charge the remaining 50% but this is clearly one of the fastest chargers around.
