Honor 10 Lite review
Big screen and big on selfies
Our Honor 10 Lite review finds an affordable mobile phone, at around £180 in the UK, that delivers in a big way. The display is large and detailed, while the AI selfie camera is loaded with features and tech to deliver amazing results.
Dewdrop Notch Display
The Honor 10 Lite has a big 6.21” display that fits into the framework of a phone with a 5.2” body. This lets you see more while holding less and it looks very cool with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The Full HD+ resolution of 2340x 1080 pixels is only interrupted by a small dewdrop camera notch.

If you choose the Sky Blue colour then you will enjoy a colour gradient that is light at the top and dark at the bottom. If a colour gradient effect isn’t for you then you can choose Shiny Red, White, Midnight Black or Sapphire Blue. In all cases, the phone is very light at 162g and slim at 7.95mm.
The Honor 10 Lite has a powerful Kirin 710 2.2GHz octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. This gives you a smooth performance with reduced power consumption. Honor has added GPU Turbo technology to improves graphics processing and the gaming experience.

Phone Set Up
Plenty of memory
With the Honor 10 Lite you can opt for either a 32GB memory or a 64GB memory. Both memory options give you plenty of space for your existing phone content. In the unlikely event that you run short on memory in the future, then you will find a memory card slot that supports cards up to 512GB.
You can take your pick of either fingerprint security (rear sensor) or facial recognition. It is worth setting up both in our opinion with facial recognition working well in the day and the fingerprint sensor working well in low light.
The EMUI 9.0 user interface has been designed for the FullView Display. The UI has a natural and minimalist design that makes it quick to do everyday tasks. Running on Google’s Android 9.0 Pie OS, Honor has added a few extras for you including an AI accelerated translator and AI-Enhanced Calls. The call enhancement improves call quality in loud environments or where the network signal is poor.
Camera & Video
24MP AI Selfie
The selfie camera is really what makes the Honor 10 Lite special. It has many features, some of which work in the background and some in the foreground where you can tinker with them.

The first nifty piece of tech is Exposure Compensation and this uses four-in-one light fusion technology to get great low-light results. In the background, there is real-time recognition of eight scenes, which automatically adjusts the settings for each type of photo.
The AI Beauty algorithm customises beauty effects based on your gender, age and skin tone. The perfect selfie is easily achieved with the following enhancements:
- Acne removal
- Eye enlargement
- Eye bags removal
- Eyes brightening
- Face slimming
- Light and shadow effect
- Oily glare removal
- Skin smoothing
- Skin tone adjustment
- Teeth whitening
If you want your selfies to like they have been taken in a professional studio, then Stereoscopic Portrait Mode is for you. The 3D portrait lighting effects include soft lighting, stage lighting, classic lighting, split lighting, and butterfly lighting.
Dual AI Camera
The main camera has a 13MP lens and a 2MP lens and this time the camera recognises 22 scenes. Night time photography has always been difficult but the Honor 10 Lite tackles this well with a special AIS Super Night Shoot feature. This night mode allows you to capture six-seconds of exposure with an anti-shake tool that ensures that the image doesn’t become blurred, while the shutter is open and collecting more light.
