Three Mobile customers with one of the newer phones on the market will be getting an early Christmas present this year, as the company are set to hand out 4G connectivity to all of its customers free of charge.
Three is boasting that nearly all customers will be receiving the bump up before Christmas, with some customers receiving the upgrade as early as this week.
The 4G service will offer faster internet browsing for customers, reportedly up to 14 megabits per second (mbps), well above the current 3G service which typically offers around 3mbps.
This news will no doubt be well received by Three Mobile customers, whilst customers of other mobile networks will still be expected to take out new contracts when upgrading to gain their 4G connectivity.
Three’s 4G upgrade will come in the form of a software update to current customers when its 4G service is ready to go.
As good as it sounds, the upgrade will only be available to customers with 4G ready handsets of course, including the likes of the iPhone 5, 5s and 5c and the Samsung Galaxy S4, along with other devices.
The company are also offering ‘all you can eat’ data, allowing customers to use the web as much as they want on their 4G compatible devices without having to worry about shock bills or download limits.
Three will also be extending their 4G city trial to nearly 30 more locations next year, after seeing success in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Reading this year.
More information can be found on the Three Mobile website, along with a list of all the new 4G city locations.
