Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, has been speaking to a German publication about everything from the beginning of the company to how the tech giant is fairing today. One of the most surprising statements to come out of the interview was that he believed the iPhone makers were now "somewhat behind" the competition when it comes to smartphone features.
Even with a constant court battle raging between Samsung and Apple, Wozniak praised Samsung products saying that the Apple rival was producing great devices.
"Currently we are in my opinion... somewhat behind," Wozniak said when speaking about smartphone features "Others have caught up. Samsung is a great competitor. But precisely because they are currently making great products."
Even though he thinks Apple is playing catch-up he still believes the company will maintain dominance in the market thanks to a loyal fan base. Wozniak himself joins in the furor at a new product launch by queuing in line with customers for the latest iPhone or iPad.
"The launch of a new Apple product is for me like a big, major concert in which you absolutely must attend personally. It's history. Sure, I could order online or call the store manager... But that would be nothing. No, I will have the experience like any normal customer. But one thing is certain. If Apple would make lousy products, I would not be in line."
This is certainly not the sentiment from Apple who believes the main reason Samsung has managed to gain the success they have is from infringing patents, a reason for many of the court cases currently going through the system.
Even though the Apple co-founder may think Apple are struggling to keep up there are many avid Apple fans that would disagree - what do you think? Connect with us on Facebook or Twitter to give us your opinion.
