Sony could release a small, medium and large version of the Xperia Z2 at MWC next week, if reports from Twitter are to be confirmed.
We have expected the Xperia Z2 flagship handset to make an appearance for a while now, after Sony began making noises about the successor to the Z1, which was released last year.
But now we’re hearing talk of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, and Z2 Ultra, which would be a phablet version of the Z2.This is definitely surprising to hear, as most flagship handsets don’t see an up-sized version for at least a few months after their original release, but Sony could break the trend at this year’s event in Spain.
The Sony social media channels aren’t giving much away, but the Sony Xperia Google+ page has recently released a rather vague picture, mentioning ‘something extraordinary is coming’.
What could this mean? Considering the picture, we think it definitely has something to do with the upcoming Z2’s snapper, which was thought to be hovering around the 20 megapixel range, similar to its predecessor.
The Z1 featured a brilliant 20.7MP camera, and if this post is relating to the camera, could we be seeing an upgrade? We certainly hope so!
With all this speculation coming from the Japanese company, we definitely can’t wait to see what it has in store for us next week at MWC. Hopefully they’ll be giving us a trio of devices to get our mitts on!
