The Samsung Galaxy Premier event is now over and the Korean manufacturer had plenty to show us.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini was revealed, as expected, and many of the details that had been leaked proved to be true putting this as the 4G version of the S3 Mini.
The S4 Mini has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display and a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and of course the 4G connectivity on board will mean superfast web browsing on this phone.
Samsung hinted that this smartphone would be released before the end of June and the Galaxy S4 Mini is already available for pre-order from a number of vendors.
There was news that Samsung would be giving us a tougher version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and this was confirmed at the event with the Galaxy S4 active. This IP67 certified smartphone is dust and water resistant and includes Aqua Mode which allows you to take photos underwater and the screen is glove friendly too.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom has been talked about before and this camera-centric smartphone has similar specs to the S4 Mini but with a 16-megapixel camera on the back with 10x digital zoom.
The camera is the main selling point for this phone with a xenon flash for enhanced low light photos and it's the first smartphone to have a 10x optical zoom.
Samsung Tablet - ATIV tablet range
The event was also used to premier a new range of ATIV tablet PC's with the ATIV Q taking centre stage. The ATIV Q is a laptop/tablet hybrid. The tablet boasts both Windows 8 and Android Jelly Bean on board and includes a 13.3-inch touchscreen display. Samsung also gave is the ATIV 3 which they claim is the thinnest Windows 8 tablet.
With many of the products that were revealed already being the subject of much rumour and speculation there were not too many surprises.
Now that Samsung has added more products to the S4 range tell us which is your favourite? Do you like the more compact S4 Mini? Or would you choose the S4 Active as it's a bit tougher than your average smartphone? Do you like the Galaxy S4 Zooms advanced camera functions? The Samsung Galaxy Premiere is kicking off in London tonight from 5pm and will be streamed live on Samsung’s YouTube channel.
Although, as usual, Samsung hasn’t given too much away about what will be unveiled at the event, we are likely to see the Galaxy S4 and the S4 Zoom in action, as well as a possible series of ATIV devices.
Rumours have suggested that Samsung may well reveal a range of tablets and laptops sporting the Windows 8 operating system, though this is still largely guesswork.
The company’s promotional poster published on the Samsung Mobile Twitter page indicate that we will be seeing three new devices unveiled at the Premier event, and tech fans all over the world are hoping one of the three might be a smart-watch- a key trend hinted at but not yet seen this year.
So tune in at 7pm tonight to see exactly what Samsung has in store for us, or check back here for all the latest as it happens.
