Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, said “Living a healthy lifestyle is a top priority for consumers to enjoy fulfilling lives. Our wearable technology can enhance existing routines and blend fitness and fun. The Gear Fit2 and Gear IconX are specialised to easily address these needs, ultimately allowing users to get more out of their fitness experiences and everyday activities.”
The Samsung Gear Fit2 is a powerful fitness band that features embedded GPS and a Heart Rate Monitor (HRM), for precise tracking, measurement and instant feedback of the wearer’s workout.
With a sleek, slim and ergonomic design, the Gear Fit2 has a comfortable fit for everyday use. It’s practical too, with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
The Super AMOLED 1.5” colour touchscreen is curved and has a high resolution (216 x 432 pixels). It’s possible to use the Gear Fit2 to respond to text message notifications and receive notifications from social networks, apps, calls, email and scheduled events.

New to the Gear Fit2 is Auto Activity Tracking. This takes the effort out of commencing activity tracking with monitoring starting automatically, with recognition of running, cycling or walking as well as when using an elliptical trainer or rowing machine.
The data recorded can easily be transferred to S Health or select fitness apps. Additional to these features is ‘Step Challenges’ used for one on one competition with friends. The Gear Fit2 can also be used as a standalone music player, keeping wearers motivated with music and without the need for a smartphone.
Gear Fit2 specifications includes a dual core processor, 4GB storage, weighting of 28-30g depending upon size ordered, a 200mAh battery and the TIZEN operating system.

The Gear IconX is a pair of wire-free earbuds that don’t even have wires between the earbuds themselves. The earbuds are a smart wearable that can track running performance with a Voice Guide giving instant voice feedback on workout progress.
The earbuds are activated by placing them in the ear and they will track fitness parameters such as speed, distance, duration, calories burned and heart rate. The Gear IconX can be synced with S Health and are compatible with Android 4.4.
The lightweight earbuds (6.3g per earbud) are comfortable to wear, with three sizes of eartips and wingtips. The P2i Nano Coating makes them plash resistant and the Bluetooth earbuds have a built in microphone in each earbud.
The Gear IconX can be used to create a standalone music listening experience, with an internal storage (4GB) for holding up to 1,000 MP3s. Music is controlled with simple taps and swipes.
These Samsung wearables have been designed to be useful for all kinds of athlete, from those who simply walk through to those who run marathons.
