After Samsung accidentally revealed the specs of its Samsung Galaxy S4 mini this week, the Korean company has finally made the device official.
So how do the official specs measure up to the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini rumours we’ve been reporting on?
The device has a 4.3 inch HD Super AMOLED screen and is powered by a super-charged 1.7GHz processor- incredible for a mid-range smartphone.
The Galaxy S4 Mini also shares some of the impressive camera features as its bigger brother, the S4, including an 8MP rear facing lens, as well as the Sound & Shot mode, which allows users to accompany still shots with short audio clips. The phone even offers the Story Album feature, allowing users to compile their own professional-looking photo albums.
Other camera features offered with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini include Night (for low light shots), Best Photo, Best Face, Beauty Face, HDR, Panorama, Sports, and Continuous Shot modes.
The device, as you’d imaging for a miniature version of the S4, is small and lightweight, measuring in at just 8.9mm thick and 107g in weight.
The other key features that the Samsung Galaxy S4 has inherited from its bigger brother is the S Translator app, which allows you to translate both spoken and written text, and S Health, an app which turns your phone into a personal trainer to improve your health, fitness and overall well-being.
JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Communication Division at Samsung Electronics said: “We want to give people more choices with Galaxy S4 mini, similar look & feel of Galaxy S4 for more compact and practical usages. The new Galaxy S4 mini provides consumers with a new way to enjoy the flagship Galaxy S4 experience.”
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will also be available in both white and black, and is 4G compatible. Dual SIM handsets will be available, though it is still unknown whether this variation will be targeted at a UK market. Although the unveiling of the device has come earlier than expected, Samsung has yet to announce a release date for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.
