Smartphones using Google's Android or Apple's iOS operating systems will now be able to get their hands on Adobe's PhotoShop Touch.
The announcement applies to owners of iPhone 4S
's and above as well as Android users with the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system or above.
PhotoShop Touch for tablets has been around since 2012 and this latest rollout to smartphone users brings some distinct advantages. To start with the Creative Cloud storage system will allow users to save images and then later share and edit them on a desktop, tablet or smartphone.
This transference of work-in-progress photos really is a great benefit and will open up demand for this new app. The app can be purchased at Google Play or the App Store for just US$4.99 and a free account with Creative Cloud offers 2GB of storage.
Although we shouldn't expect this app to do everything that the full PhotoShop software can, there will be plenty of features and for non-professionals this should completely satisfy your editing needs.
The app can handle photos of up to 12-megapixels and features include Scribble Select for precise cropping and selections even with a finger. All the core features of PhotoShop are layered around the screen for easy tapping and photos can be shared quickly to Facebook, Twitter or via email.
