With the CES drawing to a close many manufacturers gave us some hints as to what to expect from the MWC next month including Huawei as they confirmed new releases to the P range of smartphones.
The Ascend P1 wowed visitors at the MWC last year as it showed Huawei's new focus on higher end models and came in as the thinnest smartphone at the event.
Richard Yu, Consumer Business Group CEO hinted that the phones will have a metallic body and will be thinner than the newly announced Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra, so that handset won't retain the thinnest smartphone crown for long.
Huawei is expected to launch two new handsets at the event one of which should be the company's Windows Phone offering, the Ascend W3.
Huawei is also in a race with Samsung to be the first to market with an eight core processor, with the new chip reportedly up to 70% more efficient than today’s quad-core processors. These super chips will not be released by Huawei until later this year so Samsung could pip them to the post if the rumours of the Galaxy S4 sporting an octo-core processor are true.
We only have to wait until next month for the MWC 2013 so we shall soon know what Huawei will be wowing us with along with all the other manufacturers.
