HTC to roll out Sense 5.0 update to select smartphones

HTC One Sense 5.0

HTC has confirmed that it will be upgrading select handsets to its new Sense 5.0 user interface. Debuted on the gorgeous new HTC One, Sense 5.0 offers a number of innovative new features, however not all will be supported by older handsets.

Blinkfeed, which is HTC’s new concept for a home screen, will be part of Sense 5.0 on older handsets. This allows users to view content from some of your favourite apps, including Facebook and Twitter, in one vertical scrolling home screen. It’s a cross between Flipboard and the Windows Phone 8 home screen, but much more personal.

The HTC One was recently announced as the best phone and best in show at Mobile World Congress, which wrapped up this week and part of the reason for this award was the developments of Sense 5.0.

Sense 5.0 will be rolled out to the HTC One X and One X+, the HTC One S and HTC Butterfly, in the next few months.
