It seems that every other day there is news about a smartphone manufacturer dabbling in the world of watches, and this week, Google is the latest company to jump on the bandwagon of wearable smartphones.
In a report released by the Financial Times, it emerged that the smart-watch will be a solely Google project, and will inevitably run Google’s Android operating system. In the report, it was said that the Google Nexus watch is being created as “an extension to the smartphones” that run Android. It was also said that, at present, there is no indication of when it might launch.”
This news comes after the release of promotional videos for some of Google’s wackier projects to date, including its Google Glass, a wearable smartphone which is worn like a pair of spectacles, and the Google self-driving car.
With everything that Google releases, however, we expect that if, or when, the Google Nexus Smart-watch hits the market, it will create a storm, and will certainly give the supposed iWatch and Samsung’s Galaxy smart-watch a run for its money.
