Samsung announces Galaxy A 2017 series

Samsung has announced the Galaxy A (2017 series), which will consist of the Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A3 (2017). 

These Samsung smartphones will supersede the existing A series that included the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5.

The 2017 A series will for the first time be water and dust resistant, to IP68 standards. Consumers will also be drawn in by the premium metal frame and 3D glass back, with the colour range including Black Sky, Blue Mist, Gold Sand and Peach Cloud.

The Galaxy A (2017) series benefits from an enhanced front camera, a more stable and accurate autofocus, a display that operates as a front flash, Food Mode and active picture effects.

The series also enjoys some of the latest innovations such as Fast Charge through the reversible USB Type-C port, an Always on Display, a Secure Folder with biometric authentication and 256GB microSD card support.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 will have a large 5.7” FHD Super AMOLED display and be powered by a 1.9GHz octa-core processor with 3GB RAM an the Android Marshmallow operating system.

Security is provided by a fingerprint scanner and storage is aided by the 32GB internal memory.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 has similar qualities to the Galaxy A7 2017 but with a smaller 5.2” FHD Super AMOLED display and 3,000mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 is the budget model of the trio and its specifications reflect this. There is a compact 4.7” HD Super AMOLED display and a 1.6GHz octa-core processor with 2GB RAM. The 16GB internal memory is accompanied by a 13MP camera, 8MP selfie camera and 2,350mAh battery, which doesn’t have Fast Charge like the other two models.
