Delayed 4G Service Hitting Three Handsets

4G Three

Three Mobile’s free 4G service is finally being rolled out here in the UK, after holding the service back from its pre-Christmas release.

Three had promised to give customers with a 4G handset free access to the connection just before the festive period, but seemingly had to hold back until this week.

Three Mobile customers who happen to have a 4G enabled smartphone and live in one of the 36 towns and cities where Three has activated the service then you should be receiving 4G speeds right now.

The company are aiming to have 250 towns and cities covered by the end of this year, and a near full 98% UK coverage in 2015.

EE is currently the network leader in 4G connectivity, having brought in the service in recent years but the likes of Tesco Mobile and Three have countered by offering free upgrades to 4G, whilst EE is currently charging for the upgrade.

The race is certainly a tight one in terms of the service leader right now, but deals like Three’s and Tesco Mobile’s are definitely pushing new customers to side with them.

Are you on 4G? Is it noticeably different to 3G? Why not let us know on Facebook, Twitter or Google+?
