A new model of the BlackBerry will be launched this coming January, Research in Motion (RIM) announced this week.
The BlackBerry 10, aside from anything else, looks completely different from any of its predecessors, and images released mark a striking resemblance to every other smartphone on the market.
The question that most analysts are asking, though, is whether the new BlackBerry 10 will initiate a comeback for the Canadian company following a drop in sales figures over the past few years. In America especially, BlackBerry has found its percentage market share falling short of other smartphones including the iPhone and Android models.
However, will the new BlackBerry’s move away from the traditional physical keyboard and semblance to every other smartphone out there work in its favour, or will these critical changes in design deter BlackBerry’s existing fan base? All will unfold in January.
