Although Acer might be better known for its computers, the communication technology company launched two new smartphones ahead of Barcelona’s MWC.
Acer’s big news at last year’s consumer electronics show included the launch of the Z3 and E2, and this year we’re privileged to see another two devices hitting the shelves.
The Acer Liquid E3 has a 4.7-inch screen on front of a slim line and lightweight body, measuring in at just 8.9mm thick and 135 grams in weight.
The primary feature which makes the E3 stand apart from its predecessor is its 13 megapixel rear-facing camera set to rival the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5s. The camera is packed with features, including an ultra-fast focus and “Bright Magic”, improving your photos enormously.
What’s more, the smartphone sports a 2 megapixel front facing camera which comes equipped with a front flash, enabling you to capture amazing selfies.
Under the hood the Acer Liquid E3 will sport a mighty quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 4GB on internal storage and will run Android 4.2.2.
Price and release date
The Acer Liquid E3 is a great alternative to Samsung, HTC and Apple’s pricey smartphones, and will be available to buy SIM free from just €199 (UK prices are yet to be announced). And with Acer Liquid E2 deals starting from just £17 a month, you could pick up a bargain with the Liquid E3 when it is released in April.
The Acer Liquid Z4 follows on from Acer’s popular Z range of budget smartphones, with the latest instalment featuring a compact 4-inch screen on a handset that’s only 9.7mm thick.
The smartphone also sports a 5 megapixel camera and DTS Sound technology, making multimedia activities run like a dream.
In terms of specs, the Z4 doesn’t look so bad either, packing a dual-core 1.3 GHz processor and running Android Jelly Bean.
If you’re after a great budget smartphone which can be found for just £11 a month, take a look at our Acer Liquid Z3 review.
The Z4 will also be a great phone for first time smartphone users, and with customisable profiles available, including Basic Mode, Easy Mode, Classic mode and Keypad mode, the Z4 has a profile of every user.
Price and release date
The Acer Liquid Z4 will be available in Europe from April, and will be priced at just €99 (UK prices are yet to be revealed).
Both the Liquid Z4 and E3 devices will sport Acer’s new and improved user interface with updated icons and greater multitasking opportunities. AcerFloat allows users to open multiple apps at once, whilst Acer SnapNote is great for business users to compile meeting notes and presentations.
