Sleek 'n' stylish, the Nokia 6500 Slide is a big-screen (2.2-inch, QVGA LCD 16.7 million colour, 240 x 320 pixels), 3G phone in a silver and black casing. Incorporating the 33.5mm x 44.7mm active display in a 96.5mm x 46.5mm x 16.4mm body, the 6500 Slide has a "solid but with quality" feel to its 123 g - still light enough to carry easily.
An imaging-focused beauty, the Slide comes with a 3.2 megapixeal camera with a Carl Zeiss™ lens and 8x digital zoom. The auto focus feature enables a clear shot, while the double LED flash ensures the correct lighting for each photo. Integral Adobe PhotoShop software allows you to amend photos and add finishing touches on the spot. When the camera feature is used in horizontal mode, you can use the capture key and zoom keys just like any standard digital camera. You can then share and print photos using the Flickr™ feature, enabling you to connect directly to the Flickr™ Website (to share photos with friends and family). You can print photos easily using the PictBridge™ feature.
Video recording comes with a 4 x zoom, recording footage in VGA, MPEG4 & QCIF formats. The VGA recording can recording footage at 15 frames per second and the QCIF can capture 30 frames per second. The Slide plays video footage recorded by you or streamed or sent from other video-capable phone users via the messaging service.
The a second camera is used during two-way 3G video calls via the large screen. A TV out feature allows you to enjoy still images in VGA and video in QVGA at 15 frames per second during TV conferencing and TV video calling.
With 20 MB internal memory and a 256 Kbyte card for starters, it offers expandable memory up to 4 GB via a MicroSD™ memory card, along with stereo headset, TV out cable and USB cable.
A quad-band phone, the Slide delivers global roaming over GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 with WCDMA 850 and 2100. You can connect to compatible devices via the micro USB connector, a 2.5mm AV connector for connecting a compatible headset or TV out or a Bluetooth™ wireless for compatible device (PC, laptops, PDA, headset or printer). It supports EDGE technology and 3G for fast data transfer.
Other aspects of this feature-rich phone include an integrated FM radio (with on-screen interaction), MP3/MP4 music, mobile Internet via the Opera mini browser and SMS/MMS messaging.
The battery offers up to 320 hours of standby time or six hours' talk time from a full charge.
