The Sony Ericsson W700i is a tri-band solid bar phone with a compact and light feeling - it weighs 99 grams and the overall size of the handset is 100 x 46 x 20.5 mm - with an emphasis on entertainment and fun.

It comes with a 262k colour TFT style (176 x 220 pixel resolution) screen which works as a full screen viewfinder when the user is using the built in 2 megapixel camera and video, complete with 4 x digital zoom plus flash and VideoDJ video editor software. Its QuickShare™ feature allows you to take a photo with the camera and send it in a matter of seconds to other contacts.

There is a media player which provides an all-in-one music and video player. The Walkman® music player is activated by the Walkman® button. You can use integral Disc2Phone software to transfer music from your PC or music CD to the W700i or connect the phone to a home stereo.

You can use a Bluetooth® headset to have a wireless music experience or mini speakers to hear the sound out loud. The W700i comes with MP3 & ACC music tones and 40 voice polyphonic ringtones. The music player feature comes with MusicDJ™, which allows the user to create their own polyphonic ringtones in different music styles. The PlayNow™ music feature allows the user to download music ringtones from the phones desktop. The Mega Bass™ feature enhances the bass. You can listen to favourite radio stations via the built in FM radio, with a radio station search facility.

The W700i comes with GPRS, Bluetooth®, infrared, fast port, HSCSD and USB connectivity which provides a fast, efficient connection. You can connect wirefree to any Bluetooth® compatible device or access the Internet by a modem connection and Access NetFront™ Web browser.

There are several embedded Java™ games as well as every day features including calendar, contacts list, alarm clock, calculator, code memo, tasks, phone book and notes. Call features include handsfree speaker phone feature, conference calling feature, voice mail & vibrating alert.

The Sony Ericsson W700i comes with 34 MB of internal memory a 256 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo™ which will store approximately 64 music tracks, with an expansion slot taking storage up to 4 GB.

Battery life is rated at nine hours talk time and 400 hours on standby.
