Motorola ROKR E8

The ROKR E8 is a part of Motorola's ROKR series of music-oriented phones. This one has a unique design in a solid bar form factor: the phone is ultra slim at under 11m thick and the front side is something special with a unusually styled keyboard. It has "buds" over the surface and is touch sensitive: instead of actual keys, it has virtual keys. It needs to be illuminated to show the characters - by means of a backlit keyboard.

The E8 also has an Omega wheel device that makes it easy to navigate around your music and menus. It has music dedicated shortcuts, which are illuminated to attract attention.

The screen optimized for 262K colour with a QVGA display. The E8 has a 2GB internal memory and a slot for an extendable microSD card up to a further 2GB. Camera is a 2 megapixel affair and although there is autofocus, image quality is still decent. It has a 3.5 mm jack for stereo headphones, a microUSB for charging and synchronizing plus an in-build FM radio.

Battery life is rated at up to five hours talk time and up to 300 hours on standby.
