HTC One X In Detail
The HTC One X and HTC One XL are the jewels in the crown of a new range of three handsets released in early 2012 by the Taiwanese manufacturer. The different models in the One Series have been designed to target a distinct segment of the hugely competitive smartphone market and the One X and One XL are the phones that come packed with all the bells and whistles.
Launched during Mobile World Congress in February 2012, the One X ships with Android's 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. This powers a 4.7-inch 720p HD touchscreen and dual front and rear-facing cameras, which HTC has super-charged to begin operating in less than one second and autofocus in 0.2 seconds.
The main camera is an 8MP 3264x2448 pixels with LED flash alongside a front-facing 1.3MP 720p camera for video calls. The One X has a neat feature that enables you to shoot HD video and take still photographs simultaneously. There's also a 'smile detection' facility and automatic focusing on faces alongside geo-tagging to easily store where your photographs were taken. All these features add up to HTC producing one of the leading mobile cameras on the market.
HTC is making the most of its collaboration with Beats Audio by integrating it throughout the One series. Beats Audio's association with Dr Dre has meant it has become hugely popular and with a clearly enhanced quality of sound, it has given HTC a real competitive edge in the handset market.
The phone ships in both white and black cases and at 130g is lighter than the iPhone 4S. Its clean and minimalist design is very HTC and actually resembles a mini tablet with its size and shape. Its 134.4mm length makes it almost 20mm longer than the iPhone 4S and 10mm than the Samsung Galaxy S II, so it may prove to be tough to fit comfortably in your pocket.
