Daniel Lau

Sero represents the culmination of months of hard work and painstaking development. Although the brief asked specifically to focus on the design of the hardware, I felt the need to design a new user-interface for the phone too. This was because I believed for any hardware to succeed; it must be supported with an elegant and intuitive UI.

Sero’s unique form factor in the mobile phone sector offers creative and user-friendly solutions to everyday problems. By having a 360 degree speaker system, sound will never be muffled no matter which orientation the phone is held in. This feature also provides a surface in which the user can wrap their headphones around – nullifying common complaints of tangled earphone cables.

The modular design enables users to specifically alter their phone to suit their needs. The current add-ons consist of ProCam and ProSound, but the potential for others to be developed is present. These are just a few of the design features implemented into the Sero concept phone."
