The most hotly anticipated smartphone launch of 2014 is upon us so it is time to great the Apple iPhone 6 and its larger friend the Apple iPhone 6 Plus.
Today we are going to take a look at the most important things you need to know.
So let's take a look at 10 things you need to know about the iPhone 6.
The iPhone 6 has arrived and the best news is that you can enjoy the same quality experience on two differently sized devices. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch display whilst the new iPhone 6 Plus goes extra large with a 5.5 inch display.
We see Apple using its Retina HD screens and with that size difference you will experience more pixels and pixels depth on the iPhone 6 Plus.
The iPhone 6 has 326ppi with a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. The iPhone 6 Plus has 441ppi with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The camera is the same on both models as is the remaining spec. The 8MP iSight camera delivers video recording at 1080p and with cinematic video stabilisation and time-lapse video there is plenty to play around with.
There is also improved face detection, a high-resolution panorama mode which captures 43MP and a new sensor that captures 81% more light when using FaceTime HD..
The Apple iPhone 6 sees a new curved look with seamless edges as glass meets anodized aluminium and stainless steel. The volume buttons have also been enlarged to help increase usability.
The new 64-bit A8 chip delivers 50% faster processing and the M8 motion coprocessor delivers 84x faster processing for graphic intensive gaming.
The gaming experience has been heightened by the creation of Metal which is a new technology that allows developers to create highly immersive console style gaming with all the benefits of complex visual effects that will challenge other handheld gaming consoles.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be compatible with the Apple Watch, previously rumoured as the iWatch. You will however have to wait for this wearable tech as it will not be released until early 2015!
Touch ID security is back again and will allow you to make purchases from iTunes such as iBooks etc. Apple Pay combined with Passbook will now let you pay in stores and within app with one touch using NFC.
Setting up this service with you bank card is also easy and you can be very lazy and use the iSight camera to capture you cards details, so no typing is required!
The iPhone 6 has more battery power than ever before and that new A8 chip is 50% more energy efficient. The battery life is different on the two Apple smartphones and the larger shell of the iPhone 6 Plus gives it extra room for more battery. So although it has a larger screen that is over compensated for and the battery will keep you connected for longer.
The iPhone 6 uses the new Safari web browser that has a few new tweaks such as the Reader icon that allows you to read articles online with all of the adverts removed. Apple also report that Wi-Fi speeds are up to 3x faster and 4G can download at speeds of up to 150Mbps.
