One of the latest developments we’ve seen with our smartphones of late, USB-C connections are the new connector which is being slowly implemented onto more and more devices, in an effort to make them ‘future-proof’.
However, whilst the new connection brings a number of benefits, like faster charging, reversibility and faster data transfer, not many people know which phones sport the new slot.
That’s where we come in, as we’re about to hit you up with the best five phones which pack the new hardware slot – saving you a tonne of research!
Do you like the look of the latest Nexus phone? Take a look at all of our Google Nexus 6P deals here!
The most powerful Nexus phone of the year, the Nexus 6P was built by Huawei and launched in September. Rocking a large 5.7” QHD display and a number of powerful specs, the Nexus 6P was also one of the first phones to boast the USB-C connection.
On top of this, it also packs the brand new Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, giving it a brand new look in the software department as well. So, if you’re in need of a USB-C phone with the latest Android OS, the Nexus 6P could be your best option!
If you’re excited for Windows 10 more than you are for Android Marshmallow, then the Microsoft Lumia 950XL should be right at the top of your shopping list anyway. However, add a USB-C connection to the mix and you’re sure to be tempted even more.
Its QHD phablet display is equally grateful for the fast charging capabilities of the port, whilst the rest of its specs also make for good reading as well. Plus, with the faster data transfer capabilities of USB-C, any work you get done via the new work-focused OS can be sent to your other devices faster than ever before!
Are you a fan of OnePlus? Why not take a look at the OnePlus X as well?
The second flagship ‘destroying’ smartphone from OnePlus, the OnePlus 2 brings high-end specs and a solid design to the market without pricing too many shoppers from its grasp. Rocking another phablet-esque screen, the USB-C connection is well received to allow for faster charging, whilst the specs behind the scenes also help out with conserving battery life.
Despite being notably inexpensive, the OnePlus 2 is a true competitor to the likes of the Nexus 6P and Microsoft Lumia 950XL. Plus, with the USB-C connector in tow, it doesn’t miss any tricks either, making it a worthwhile investment, if you can get an invite for one.
We already spoke about its larger brethren, but another Windows 10 phone getting the new type of USB slot is the smaller Lumia 950. A flagship phone in its own right, you might not get such a big display, but you still get plenty of power with the handset, which is also a bit easier to handle.
The USB-C slot will undoubtedly provide a useful addition to the Lumia’s design, allowing for any-way up charging, whilst its 3000mAh battery will be recharged in a matter of minutes with the slot in use. So if you can’t pony up the cash for the 950XL, not all hope is lost if you want a Windows favouring USB-C phone!
If you prefer LG to build your Google Nexus handsets, then you’re in luck. The Nexus 5X was released alongside the 6P, but was built by the manufacturer with a more laid back style, and sports a slightly more tuned back spec sheet, but keeps the USB-C connection.
This means that we keep the new connectors advantages despite spending a little less cash, and still enjoy the benefits of Android Marshmallow – which is included on the 5X as well as the 6P. So, whilst it might not boast a full flagship spec sheet, you still get all the USB-C advantages!
