Today I take a look at the how to transfer files and apps between smartphones in my Xender File Sharing app review.
The Xender app is available to download free of charge and is one of the easiest ways to transfer and share with your fellow smartphone user.
The Xender file sharing app is a small download so it takes only moments to get set up, particularly if you have your smartphone or tablet connected to your home’s Wi-Fi router.
The Xender file sharing app is a great little tool for transferring files from one smartphone to another making it really easy to share almost anything on your smartphone with friends and family. The Xender app is versatile and can be used to bridge the barrier between operating systems, so you could share a file on your Android device with an Apple device or vice-versa.
You may ask what can I transfer? Well, almost anything and the Xender app splits your files into categories so it is easy to find the item you wish to share. Supported file types for sharing include music files, videos, documents, spreadsheets, eBooks, photos and best of all apps.
Apps can be a pain to download and clog up your Wi-Fi internet signal, restricting its use by other users. So the next time your friend or family member wants the app that you have downloaded use Xender instead.
How does Xender work? Xender works by creating a Wi-Fi group that is completely separate to any internet Wi-Fi signal. So Wi-Fi is used directly between the two devices. The first user clicks on the create group button and the second user clicks on the join group button. After this you simply select the app, photo or document you want to share and it transfers over to the other device instantly.
I fully tested Xender a couple of weeks ago and I have to say that it isn’t one of those apps that you download, stop using and forget. I have used the app on multiple occasions since for sharing apps and photos and Xender has just as much of a place in the business world too.
There is a second app available from Xender called Xender PC WeLine. You can download the file from the menu in the Xender file sharing app, so you don’t need to go searching for it in the app store.
Once the free download is complete you can share files with your PC or laptop. To do this you are prompted to visit a short URL on your PC and on this page you will see a QR code. Now you need to just scan this with your smartphone when prompted to connect your two devices together.
Your PC then springs into action and opens up the Xender PC control panel from which you have complete control of your smartphone. This is a great way to move files around without the need for a USB cable and you can also back up your messages and contacts for the just in case!
We don’t recommend all of the apps that we test at Mobilephones.com but this one deserves a recommendation as it really does make life simpler and more fun.
