Released in September 2012, the iPhone 5 has been a big success in the smartphone industry. Whilst Apple fans were shocked to see that the iPhone 5 had a larger 4” screen compared to the usual 3.5”, it had little effect on the sales, selling a whopping 5 million in the first 3 days. With such an impressive sales record, it’s no wonder that the iPhone 5 is one of the most desired mobile phones on the planet. However, it faces some tough competition especially from Samsung with their Galaxy S3.
So what makes the iPhone 5 stand out? Is it the functionality? The wide range of apps? Or the sheer amount of accessories that are available for it? I’m going to go for the accessories: there are so many amazing accessories you can get for the iPhone 5 which make it so much more enjoyable and here are a few of the best iPhone 5 accessories.
Bluetooth Keyboard Case for iPhone 5
It’s been a long time since I’ve used a phone with a keypad, just thinking about not having a touch screen device makes me shiver. Okay, it doesn’t make me shiver but it’s just not something I can live without. That being said, when I’m travelling and writing emails 24/7 it can be a bit of a pain using a touch screen keyboard which is why this Bluetooth Keyboard Case is perfect.
When I first used this keyboard, I was stunned at how brilliant it is. You just slide the keyboard from underneath the phone and you’re presented with a backlit keyboard with all the functions you’d expect. It’s sturdy too, so you don’t need to worry about typing so fast that it all falls apart. The case is also great; it’s ultra-thin yet very strong.
Bose® SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II
If you’re a music lover, then you must take a look at the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker ll. The term “packs a punch” fits this product perfectly, the sound quality produced is phenomenal which is surprising given that it only weighs 1.4kg. The speaker is Bluetooth enabled, which means that it can be used with most Bluetooth devices such as laptops, tablets and of course the iphone 5.
The fact that it weighs so little and can be powered by rechargeable batteries means that you can carry it around with you, and if you’re extra flash then you can even by a colourful case for it too. There is no detail on the exact wattage the speaker produces, but it’s definitely much more than your normal Bluetooth speaker.
Genuine Apple Lightning to 30 Pin Converter
When Apple announced that it was changing the connection port for the iPhone 5, apple fans felt betrayed. If you had spent a few hundred pounds on accessories for your old iPhone 4s, only to find out that when your iPhone 5 arrives you won’t be able them, then it must have felt like the end of the world. Perhaps, not the end of the world but it must have been infuriating that your accessories would now be redundant.
However, the day is saved! The Lightning to 30 Pin Convertor does exactly what it says on the tin. With this handy convertor you will now be able to use your old accessories with your new iPhone 5. There are a few problems though; the convertor is rather bulky making it hard for some people to connect whilst using a phone case. This biggest problem is speaker docks which are only designed to have a phone in and not some oversized adapter. Even still, this adapter is brilliant if it’s something that you need and will work with your setup.
So there you have it, a few great accessories for your iPhone 5. With 2013 already heading towards being one of the best years for smartphone technology, it’s important to keep an eye out for that perfect accessory for your iPhone 5.
